My Military Life

One interesting thing is I spent 11 years in the Army. At expiration of service I was a sergeant first class (E7). I spent time in various countries and was captain of the battalion marksmanship team for rifle and pistol. I learned many things throughout my military career, which I have utilized to improve myself.

Daniel,

Thank you for your years of service. Have you learned anything through your service that you can utilize as a project manager?

Dan,

I too want to congratulate on your commitment to protect this great nation. I also spent 5 years in the Army as a communication specialists (Signal) and understand the dedication needed to be successful in that arena. I would also add that you seem to have achieved a high rank given the relatively short time in the military (I recall an E-7 taking about 13 - 15 years). Of course, a lot of these promotions depend on your MOS, which if was infantry, I could understand.

Melvin,

Thanks for your comments. You are almost correct. DA Regulations require time in grade and time in service. I was an E6 for five years, so had that covered. The standard is 12 years waverable to 9. I was promoted at my ninth year. Potentiall due to my business. I had 3 MOS's as well. Commo (31U, which was changed to a delta MOS), Chemical (54B), and Trans (88N). Busy Busy......
